VACATION CHURCH SCHOOL MONDAY-THURSDAY EVENINGS JUNE 12-15 5:30-8:00 PM

This year we will be learning all about the three Holy Youths, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Peer pressure, and the 10 commandments. To end this AMAZING week, on Thursday, we will have a celebration program that you won’t want to miss!!!

Fr. Ari, Mr. Joseph, and all the volunteers cannot wait to see all the smiles, and lessons. Please RSVP by June 8th with Mr. Joseph @ joe.w.hodges@gmail.com

Youth Report September

HOPE and JOY helped make the Welcome Neighbors banner for our Neighborhood Dinner!

Dear Parents of Holy Trinity,

I cannot begin to explain the joy I have had over the past month getting to know y’all’s kids! The amount of love going to these kids through the HOPE/JOY, GOYA, Sunday School, Greek School, and Greek Dance instructors is incredible and delightful. Your children are receiving some of the best education possible through these hard working people and I’ll put them on a pedestal for this letter to y’all. The Youth Report to the church begins now.

HOPE/JOY

On September 10th HOPE and JOY, under the leadership of Kate Lewis, enjoyed themselves by coloring and painting a banner, three-legged racing, worm-racing (contact Kate for explanation), and an education on being a Good Samaritan. This lesson was foundational for them to understand “Love thy Neighbor as thyself” the Golden Rule. This was put to practice as they helped to decorate a banner to welcome our own neighbors for our Neighborhood Dinner that will be on September 22nd. The next HOPE/JOY meeting is on October 8!

We need one adult volunteer to help Kate Lewis continue to provide top-tier attention to our youngest children. One Saturday morning per month is what is needed!

If you have not signed up your kid yet, I encourage you to email Kate Lewis at klglewis29@gmail.com

GOYA

GOYA has had their elections. The positions of the GOYA Council are as follows: Keira Firilas-President, Eleni Ferderigos-Vice President, Abbi Reid-Treasurer, Dory Lewis-Secretary, and Caleb Reid-Historian. Frank and Sommer Kordonis are looking forward to the bright future that this year has in store for the GOYAns. We look forward to organising events and setting ourselves up for success moving forward.

Greek Dance

Kyklonakia and Palamakia (4-7 yo and 8-12 yo respectively) had their first night in the office on September 14, the excitement that the kids showed was palpable. I look forward to seeing them mature in dancing. The GOYA dance groups (Pegasus and Asteria) have been meeting since mid August. These groups have already seen much improvements since the beginning and are getting me excited to see them in action! Thank you Eleni and Tina for incomparable instruction!

Greek School

Dena and Patty are spearheading the youth Greek School for Holy Trinity. On September 14, we had the blessing of Greek School by Father Aristotle to kick off the school year! Then the kids were taught to introduce themselves to each other in Greek after they had some snacks to get them warmed up. I believe all the kids are getting into the groove of learning about Greek Language and Culture thanks to the efforts of Dena and Patty.

Sunday School

Brenda and company have constructed a strong education team for every sunday. The September 11 ice cream social was the kick off event for Sunday school 2022-23. A strong turnout that provided a great atmosphere to continue forward has given me great confidence in the team. The weekend of September 18 I sat in on their classes, I cannot express the care that is going to your kids with words. Continue to give the children of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church the attention they need!

Thank you all so much for your time and effort to the Children of Holy Trinity!
